In making presentations on strategy all over the world, I have had the opportunity to meet and study the methods of the world's most successful trainers. When we began the Science of Strategy Institute and started licensing trainers to use my training materials, I began to collect ideas and materials from these world-class speakers to help our trainers become more successful.

Initially, I posted this material on our trainer's website, tailoring it to the specific needs of our trainers. Finally, I brought it all together into a complete book, Making Money by Speaking. If you are uncertain about the value of our joining our trainer's program (or about what it takes to be successful in training), you should first purchase this book to learn in detail what the speaking business is all about.

We teach our trainers at our training site:

How and why you use your life experiences to connect with your listeners: you learn how to use your personal history to stimulate your listeners’ passions.
The four quick steps to becoming respected as an strategic expert in your specific field: you learn must secrets for quickly developing real expertise and making that expertise a "hot topic."
The dozens of ways you can quickly turn your presentations into real income: starting with promoting our books and tapes,  you learn how to package your skills into assets that your listeners can buy now.
The seven levels of audiences and how to work you way up through them: you learn the key steps to accessing the thousands of great opportunities for speakers.
The five required  parts of a powerful presentation that gets your listeners to act: you learn how to influence others by correctly designing your presentations.
What equipment and resources you need to set up a speaking-based business: you learn the nuts and bolts of finding opportunities and preparing yourself to speak.
The game plan for a great event from setup to sales: you learn how to create great events that produce the best results.

In my research for this book, I read all the get-rich-quick-by-speaking books. Written by professional speakers, speaker bureau owners, or speaker trainers, they all have the same flaw. Their approach to speaking won’t work for the average person. Don’t get me wrong—every book I read had some good ideas. I’ve applied many of those ideas to the lessons on our site. But the approach they teach is not based on sound strategy. Building a business as a speaker requires hard work and a lot of luck.

Our approach is more realistic. It isn’t about becoming a celebrity. Becoming a spokesperson is a marketing strategy. You use it to create a dominant position for yourself within your organization. You use it to create a dominant position for your organization within the larger marketplace.

You can see all the basic material we offer on our site by going to these pages copied directly from the site.

Among the other materials you can access on the trainer's site:

Seminar marketing material: Downloadable brochures in PDF and InDesign formats for promoting your own seminars on strategy.

Speakers contact list (value--priceless)First, we wanted to provide you with a comprehensive list of places to find speaking engagements. What is this list worth? The only place we have seen a similar list is as part of a $1,500 seminar training package and that list doesn't include live links. Our list does.

Research on persuasion (value--priceless): Money Speaking is about action, not theory, but we did a lot of research in working out our templates for crafting a persuasive presentation. That research included analysis of what successful speakers were doing, but to understand what those speakers were doing, we did  lot of research on the psychology of persuasion. This is research you can get nowhere else.

Customize your presentation: (value--priceless): What questions do you ask to tailor your presentation to the needs of a specific group. These are the questions we use to identify the key hot buttons of a given audience. Though originally developed for our trainers at the Science of Strategy institute, they work well for everyone.

Speaking quotes and agreements: (value--priceless): Before you commit yourself to a speaking engagement in which you have to invest time and trouble, you need an agreement with the event organizer and promoter. There are various arrangements you can make. For presentations that you expect to sell products at, here is a sample agreement that includes a guarantee. When you speak for a fee, we suggest you use a form like this.
